Irvin to Host Dedication of Craig Walker Memorial Bridge on Oct. 3 in Alexandria
September 30, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Franklin/Huntingdon) is inviting the public to join him at the dedication of the Craig Walker Memorial Bridge on Friday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 311 Shelton Ave., Alexandria. The dedication is being made possible by legislation authored by Irvin and adopted into Act 17 of 2025.
The bridge being named the Craig Walker Memorial Bridge carries Pennsylvania Route 305 over the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River in Alexandria Borough, Huntingdon County.
“Craig was not only a personal friend of mine, but he was a dedicated public servant who worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for nearly two decades,” said Irvin. “The naming of this bridge is a small but permanent way in which we can all remember Craig and his service to this Commonwealth and our community.”
Walker graduated from Juniata Valley High School and attended the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. He was married to his wife, Rosie, for 44 years. They have two children and two grandchildren.
He was employed by PennDOT as a diesel and construction equipment mechanic for 18 years and was preparing for retirement at the time of his passing. He died on Aug. 30, 2024, from complications of an injury sustained on the job in December of 2023. He was a member of AFSCME Local 2128.
