Irvin Announces More Than $1 Million in State Grant Funding for Local Organizations

HARRISBURG – This week, the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) approved more than $1.07 million is state grant funding for projects in the 81st Legislative District that were supported by Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Franklin).
“I am happy to have advocated for each of these grants and am thankful the CFA realized the worth of these projects and approved the funding,” said Irvin. “This money will go a long way in helping improve our communities and the people they serve.”
The grants are as follows:
In Franklin County
• $150,000 for Metal Township for the purchase of a dump truck.
• $118,650 for the Friends of Fannett-Metal Athletics for the purchase of a restroom trailer for outdoor sporting events.
• $100,000 for Fannett Township for the purchase of a tractor and mower attachment.
In Huntingdon County
• $55,607 for Standing Stone Post #1754 VFW to improve the teener baseball fields in Smithfield Township.
• $650,000 for Orbisonia/Rockhill Emergency Medical Services for the purchase of an ambulance. This grant was advocated for by both Irvin and Sen. Judy Ward (R-Blair/Fulton/Huntingdon/Juniata/Mifflin).
The CFA is an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
