January 20, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Franklin/Huntingdon) today announced more than $2.78 million in funding has been awarded to the 81st District from the Multimodal Transportation Fund and Small Water and Sewer Program. All funding was appropriated by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency that administers Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
“I’m grateful the CFA recognized the importance of these projects and awarded them grant funding,” said Irvin. “The funding will go a long way in ensuring residents in these municipalities have adequate infrastructure to meet their needs, including replacing and upgrading water and sewer infrastructure and improving a local roadway.”
There was one Multimodal Transportation Fund grant:
• Metal Township - $1.45 million to repair and repave Creek Road between Fannettsburg Road and Pigeon Hill Road, a 3.15-mile stretch of road that is currently in a state of disrepair.
Multimodal Transportation Fund grants can be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
The following are Small Water and Sewer Program grants:
• Petersburg Borough Authority - $141,000 to replace water mains along Juniata Valley Pike Road.
• Broad Top City Borough - $26,095 for an inflow and infiltration project.
• Cumberland Franklin Joint Municipal Authority - $375,000 for pumping station upgrades in Shippensburg.
• Saint Thomas Township Municipal Authority - $400,000 to replace a wastewater line along Libson Drive.
• Dudley Borough - $393,447 for stormwater collection system upgrades.
PA Small Water and Sewer Program grants assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system or flood control projects.
